Privacy Policy

Effective date: January 1, 2026

Last updated: October 19, 2026

1. Introduction

Rosie Match, Inc. (“Rosie,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) runs a membership service that matches households (“Families” or “Members”) with vetted caregiving and home-management professionals (“Pros”). We also coordinate scheduling, payments and support between them. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect personal information when you use our website at rosiematch.com, our mobile and web apps, and our related services (together, the “Service”).

This policy covers Families, Pros, applicants to become Pros, references, referral recipients and visitors to our website. It does not cover information a Family and a Pro exchange directly with each other outside the Service.

Consumer health data. If you are in Washington or another state with a consumer health data law, our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy also applies and explains how we handle health-related information such as a child’s medical or developmental needs. Where the two policies differ, that policy controls for consumer health data.

If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the Service.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only what we need to match, vet, schedule, pay and support Families and Pros.

2.1 Information you give us

All users

  • Name, email address, phone number and password
  • Profile photos
  • Home or service address and general location
  • Answers to our matching questionnaire (for example, your preferences on communication style, structure and closeness)
  • Messages, reviews, feedback and support requests

Families

  • Household members, including a partner or co-parent
  • Children’s first names, ages and care needs
  • Home details relevant to care, such as pets, home layout, accessibility needs and whether there are cameras or recording devices in the home
  • Care and home-management needs, schedules and preferences
  • Language, transportation and driving requirements
  • Membership plan, included hours, hour usage and rollover balances
  • Information for benefit reimbursement, such as receipts for a Dependent Care FSA or employer benefit
  • Health-related information you choose to share about a child or household member, such as allergies, medical needs or developmental needs (see Section 2.5)

Pros and applicants

  • Education, work history, résumé and references
  • Certifications such as CPR and First Aid
  • Work authorization, when we are legally required to verify it
  • Background check consent and the information needed to run it, such as date of birth and Social Security number
  • Driver’s license, driving record and vehicle and insurance details, if you will drive for a Family
  • Availability, service area and rate preferences
  • Interview responses, including audio or video recordings and transcripts (see Section 2.3)
  • Payout and tax information, such as bank details collected by our payment processor and taxpayer ID for tax forms
  • Dietary or accessibility needs you choose to share so we can plan shifts (see Section 2.5)

Information about other people. When you give us information about someone else, such as your child, partner or a reference, you confirm you have the right to share it with us for the purposes in this policy.

2.2 Payment information

Our payment processor, Stripe, collects and stores card and bank details. We do not store full card or bank account numbers. We receive and keep limited details such as card type, last four digits, billing address, payment and payout history, and membership charges.

2.3 Communications and recordings

We keep records of emails, texts, in-app messages, calls, voicemails and support conversations with us. We may record interviews with Pro applicants and calls with references. We tell participants at the start of a recorded call and get their consent before recording. We do not use recordings to create voiceprints or identify people by their voice.

2.4 Information collected automatically

  • Device type, operating system, browser and app version
  • IP address and approximate location derived from it
  • Pages and screens viewed, clicks, taps and navigation
  • Cookies, pixels and similar technologies, including those of our advertising partners (see Sections 4.9 and 12)
  • Session recordings of your use of our apps and website. Text you type and images are masked on your device before any data is sent (see Section 4.5)
  • We do not collect precise GPS location from your device

2.5 Sensitive information

Some information we handle is sensitive, including Social Security numbers, background check results, driver’s license numbers, information about children, and health-related information. We collect health-related information only when you choose to give it to us so a Pro can provide safe, appropriate care, and only with your consent where the law requires it. You can decline to share it, though we may then be unable to make a suitable match.

2.6 Information from other sources

  • Background check and identity verification providers
  • References you list
  • Members who refer you through our referral program (your name and contact details)
  • Employers or benefits partners, if you access Rosie through a workplace benefit
  • Public professional profiles you link to, such as LinkedIn

3. How We Use Information

3.1 Running the Service

  • Creating and managing accounts and memberships
  • Matching Families and Pros, scheduling sessions and coordinating care
  • Tracking membership hours, rollover and session rates
  • Processing payments, Pro payouts and tax forms
  • Providing receipts and documentation for benefit reimbursement
  • Preparing agreements between Families, Pros and Rosie
  • Providing customer support and care coordination

3.2 Safety and trust

  • Verifying identity, credentials and, where required, work authorization
  • Running background checks and reference checks with your consent
  • Sharing safety-relevant information, such as a child’s allergy, with the Pro caring for that child
  • Investigating incidents, complaints and suspected fraud or misuse
  • Enforcing our Terms of Service and protecting children, Families, Pros and Rosie

3.3 Matching and AI-assisted tools

We use your questionnaire answers, preferences, schedule, location and experience to suggest matches. We use software tools, including AI tools, to help our team summarize interviews, draft messages, organize schedules and answer support questions. A Rosie team member reviews matches before we propose them, and we do not make decisions that significantly affect you, such as rejecting a Pro application, based solely on automated processing. We do not allow our AI vendors to use your personal information to train their general models.

3.4 Improving the Service

  • Understanding how the Service is used and fixing problems
  • Improving matching, scheduling and pricing
  • Developing new features and services
  • Research and analytics using aggregated or de-identified data

3.5 Communications

  • Service messages about sessions, schedules, matches, billing and safety
  • Marketing emails and texts, with your consent where required. You can opt out at any time (see Section 8.4)
  • Referral invitations sent on a Member’s behalf

3.6 Legal and business needs

  • Complying with tax, employment, recordkeeping and other legal obligations
  • Responding to legal process and resolving disputes
  • Protecting Rosie’s rights, property and safety

3.7 Advertising

We use information about your visits to our website, and contact details you give us, to measure our ads and show Rosie ads to people who may be interested, including through advertising partners (see Section 4.9). You can opt out at any time (see Section 8.6).

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. Like many websites, we use advertising tools from Meta, Google and TikTok to measure our ads and show Rosie ads to people who may be interested. Under some state laws, this counts as “selling” or “sharing” personal information, or “targeted advertising,” and you can opt out at any time (see Section 8.6). We never give advertising partners health-related information, children’s information, background check results or payment details. We share information only as described below.

4.1 Between Families and Pros

Before a match is confirmed, we share only what each side needs to decide: for Pros, first name, photo, experience, certifications, availability and matching profile; for Families, first name, general area, care needs, schedule and household details relevant to the role. After a match is confirmed, we share what’s needed to provide care, such as the home address, children’s names and safety-relevant health information, and the Pro’s contact details. We do not share a Pro’s background check report, Social Security number or payout details with Families, and we do not share a Family’s payment details with Pros.

4.2 Service providers

We use vendors who process information on our behalf under contracts that limit their use of it, including:

  • Background check and identity verification providers
  • Payment and payout processing (Stripe)
  • Cloud hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services)
  • Email, SMS, calling and customer messaging tools (e.g. Customer.io)
  • Workspace and productivity tools
  • AI model providers that power our internal tools (Anthropic and OpenAI)
  • Product analytics and session replay (PostHog, see Section 4.5)
  • Customer support tools

4.3 Employers and benefits partners

If you access Rosie through an employer or benefits program, we may share enrollment status, dates of service and amounts billed so your benefit can be applied or reimbursed. We do not share care details or health information with your employer.

4.4 Legal, safety and business transfers

We may disclose information if we believe in good faith it is needed to comply with law or legal process, respond to lawful government requests, protect someone’s safety (including a child’s), prevent fraud, or protect Rosie’s rights. If Rosie is involved in a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy.

4.5 Product analytics and session replay (PostHog)

We use PostHog, Inc. to understand how the Service is used, fix reported problems and improve the product.

  • What we send: interaction events (taps, clicks, screen views), masked session recordings, the signed-in user’s name and email, our internal user ID, and device type, app version and operating system.
  • Masking: text you type and images are masked on your device before any data leaves it.
  • What PostHog does not do: collect Apple’s IDFA or other advertising IDs, track you across other apps or websites, or share data with ad networks or data brokers. We do not use this data for tracking under Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework.
  • Retention: session recordings are kept for 30 days.
  • Opt out: email hi@rosiematch.com to exclude your account from analytics and session replay.

See PostHog’s privacy policy.

4.6 With your consent

We share information in other ways when you ask or agree, for example when you ask us to send records to a new caregiver.

4.7 What you share with others

Information you give directly to another Family or Pro, inside or outside the Service, is shared at your own discretion. Rosie is not responsible for how other users use information you share with them. Please keep conversations and payments on the Service.

4.8 Cameras and recording in the home

Some Families use cameras or other recording devices in their homes. Families must tell us and their Pro about any recording devices, and must follow all laws on recording, including laws that ban recording audio without consent and recording in private spaces such as bathrooms. Families, not Rosie, control and are responsible for recordings made in their homes. Pros can ask us before a match whether a home has cameras.

4.9 Advertising and measurement partners

We use pixels, tags and conversion tools from Meta, Google and TikTok on our website. These partners may receive:

  • Your IP address, browser and device information, and cookie or advertising IDs
  • Pages you visit on our website and actions such as starting sign-up, booking a call or becoming a member
  • Your email address in hashed (scrambled) form, to match ad results

They use this to measure how our ads perform, build audiences and show Rosie ads on their platforms, and may combine it with other information they hold under their own privacy policies. We do not place these tools on pages where you enter health-related information, children’s information, background check details or payment details. To opt out, see Section 8.6.

5. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including:

  • Encryption in transit and, for sensitive data, at rest
  • Role-based access so team members see only what their job needs
  • Confidentiality agreements and privacy training for our team
  • Hosting with established cloud providers
  • Backups and recovery procedures

No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the security of information sent to us. Please use a strong, unique password and tell us right away at hi@rosiematch.com if you think your account has been compromised.

Breach notification. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and the appropriate regulators without unreasonable delay and as required by applicable law. Our notice will describe what happened, what information was involved, what we are doing, and steps you can take.

6. Data Retention

We keep personal information while your account is active and afterward for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes in this policy, such as providing the Service, protecting safety, meeting legal, tax and recordkeeping obligations, resolving disputes and enforcing our agreements. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see Section 8.2).

  • Account, profile and membership information: While your account is active, then until you ask us to delete it or it is no longer reasonably needed
  • Background check reports: As long as needed to support your work with Rosie and as required by law
  • Payment, payout and tax records: At least as long as tax and accounting laws require
  • Messages, recordings and support records: As long as needed for safety, quality and resolving disputes
  • Health-related information: Until you withdraw consent, ask us to delete it, or it is no longer needed for care
  • Session recordings: 30 days
  • Other analytics data: As long as needed to understand and improve the Service

When you ask us to delete information, we delete or de-identify it unless the law requires or permits us to keep it, for example tax records, safety incident records or information needed for an open dispute.

7. Background Checks

We use licensed consumer reporting agencies to run background checks on Pros, and only with the Pro’s written authorization. If you are a Pro:

  • You will receive the disclosures and summary of rights required by the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) and applicable state and local laws before a check is run
  • If we may take adverse action based on a report, we will give you a copy of the report and a chance to respond before a final decision
  • You can dispute inaccurate information directly with the reporting agency
  • We share the fact that you passed our screening with Families, but not the report itself

8. Your Choices

8.1 Account information

You can review and update most profile information in your account. Contact us to correct anything you can’t change yourself.

8.2 Access, deletion and portability

You can ask for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. We may keep some information when the law allows or requires it, such as payment records, background check records, and information needed for safety or open disputes. See Section 10 for how to make a request.

8.3 Health-related information

You can withdraw consent to our collection or sharing of health-related information at any time. We will stop using it for that purpose and delete it unless the law requires us to keep it.

8.4 Marketing and texts

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any email. For texts, reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help; message and data rates may apply. We will still send messages needed to run the Service, such as session and billing notices. We do not share mobile numbers or text-messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.

8.5 Analytics and session replay

Email us to opt out of PostHog analytics and session replay (Section 4.5).

8.6 Advertising opt-out

To opt out of targeted advertising and any “sale” or “sharing” of your information through our advertising partners, email hi@rosiematch.com. We will stop sending your email address to advertising partners and exclude you from audiences we build from our customer lists. Because website pixels work through your browser, you can also limit them by blocking third-party cookies, using your browser or device privacy settings, or adjusting your Meta, Google and TikTok ad settings.

9. Children’s Information

The Service is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account or work as a Pro, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children.

Parents and guardians give us information about their children so we can provide safe, appropriate care. We use it only for that purpose, share it only with the Pro and Rosie team members involved in that child’s care, and never use it for marketing or advertising. A parent or guardian can review, correct or delete their child’s information at any time by contacting us. If you believe a child has given us information directly, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Know what personal information we collect, use and disclose
  • Get a copy of your information in a portable format
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Delete your information
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising (see Section 8.6), and of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects (we do not do this)
  • Limit use of sensitive personal information, or withdraw consent to process it
  • Appeal our decision on your request

We honor these requests for all US users, whatever state you live in. We will not discriminate against you or deny you service for using these rights.

How to make a request. Email hi@rosiematch.com or call 206-593-3757. We will verify your identity, usually by matching information in your account, before acting. You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof of their authority. We respond within 45 days, and will tell you if we need more time as the law allows.

Appeals. If we decline your request, you can appeal by replying to our decision with “Appeal” in the subject line. We will respond within 45 days (60 in some states). If you disagree with the outcome, you can contact your state attorney general.

10.1 California

In the past 12 months, we collected the categories of information described in Section 2, from the sources in Section 2.6, for the purposes in Section 3, and disclosed them to the recipients in Section 4. We “shared” (and, under some interpretations, “sold”) identifiers such as IP address, cookie IDs and hashed email, and website activity, with advertising partners (Meta, Google and TikTok) for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. We use sensitive personal information only for purposes permitted by law. To opt out, see Section 8.6.

10.2 Texas and other states

Residents of Texas and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have the rights listed above. We process sensitive data, such as health information and information about children, only with your consent or as otherwise allowed by law.

10.3 Nevada

We do not sell covered information as defined by Nevada law. You may still send an opt-out request to the email above.

11. Washington Consumer Health Data

Under Washington’s My Health My Data Act, information such as a child’s allergies, medical or developmental needs, or a Pro’s dietary or accessibility needs may be “consumer health data.” For this data:

  • We collect it only with your consent, and only what’s needed to provide the care you request
  • We share it only with your consent, such as with your matched Pro, or as necessary to provide the Service you asked for
  • We never sell it, and we never send it to advertising partners. Our advertising pixels are kept off pages where you enter it
  • We do not use location to geofence health care facilities
  • You can confirm whether we hold it, see who we shared it with, withdraw consent, and ask us to delete it

Our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy gives the full details and is linked from our homepage.

12. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We and our partners use cookies, pixels, SDKs and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Service, understand usage (through PostHog), and measure and personalize advertising (through Meta, Google and TikTok; see Section 4.9). You can opt out of advertising uses as described in Section 8.6, and you can block or delete cookies in your browser, though some features may not work. Where required by law, we ask for your consent before using non-essential cookies, pixels or session recording.

13. Where We Operate

Rosie serves households in the United States, and we store and process information in the United States. If you visit from outside the US, your information will be transferred to and handled in the US under this policy.

14. Third-Party Links and Services

The Service may link to sites or services we don’t control, such as a Pro’s LinkedIn profile or a benefits provider. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, and we are not responsible for them.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as our Service and the law change. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or in the Service at least 30 days before they take effect, unless a change is required sooner by law. Where the law requires, we will ask for your consent before using previously collected information in a materially different way. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when this policy last changed.
