Ever thought to yourself: Why does everyone else seem to make this work? Why do I feel like I’m failing?

No solutions here. No neat breakthrough. Just solidarity—for anyone else trying to juggle everything and wondering why this part is still so hard.

And that’s exactly why we built Rosie.

Mitra was five months pregnant, working full-time, parenting a toddler, and preparing for a cross-country move when she hit her breaking point.

“I needed childcare, fast. My options were: pay $11,000 to an agency or spend 40–80 hours doing it myself. Those were literally the only paths forward. I was exhausted, overwhelmed, pregnant, and somehow still expected to be a full-time researcher and project manager on top of everything else.”

Karthika felt it, too. After her daughter started school, the emotional and logistical weight of that 5pm pickup changed everything.

“I thought I understood working parent life, but I didn’t—not until I lived it. Every day started to revolve around getting out in time. There was no flexibility, no margin, no backup. Just a constant undercurrent of anxiety.”

These aren’t rare stories. They’re the quiet, daily realities for so many parents—ones that often don’t get named or shared.

What’s wrong with childcare?

It’s not just broken—it’s fragmented. Agencies charge 10–25% of a caregiver’s salary and often underdeliver. Marketplaces like Care.com feel like the digital wild west: flooded inboxes, unclear availability, endless vetting. Ask anyone who did find someone great and they’ll usually say: we got lucky.

It shouldn’t have to come down to luck.

Rosie was born from this frustration.

We’re building Rosie to be the thing we wish we had—something better.

A caregiver matchmaking service that blends human intuition with thoughtful tech. We talk to you, understand your child, your values, your routines, and find caregivers who truly fit—not just fill a schedule. We handle vetting, references, interviews, and give you the support to make confident choices—without the five-figure price tag.

We believe care isn’t one-size-fits-all. Families evolve. Needs shift. Rosie is built to support that full journey—not just a one-time hire.

So no, this isn’t a big solution post. It’s not a parenting hack or a moment of clarity.

It’s a reminder: if you’re tired, stretched thin, and wondering why this feels harder than it should—you’re not imagining it.

We’re building Rosie for you.

And if you’re in it now—or will be soon—come see what we’re working on:

We’ll figure it out together.
